The key to flow is attention-- being able to
manage your attention and arousal and physiological and neurological
activation. How do you help a person move from activation level one to
five while maintaining elite skill? Regarding attachment, people
who develop elite skills tend to be more narrowly attached to the
skills and performance, rather than people. This narrow point of view
leads to more self criticism and obsessive thoughts. You want to move
the elite performer into a place in which they have more skills for
managing the inner critic.
