Hershel Toomim

Lifetime in innovative research resulting in many honors, patents, and pioneering development of biofeedback computer based instrumentation including Biocomp 2010 followed by invention of hemoencephalography (HEG)

Memories are stored in neural dendrites throughout the brain. Exposure of intentially activated brain areas to new
experience changes such memories in selected directions. This is most readily accomplished with Hemoencephalography (HEG), an alternate for EEG neurofeedback

Workshop #204):  All You Ever Wanted to Know About HEG

Hershel Toomim will present PowerPoint programs detailing how to use HEG in clinical settings. The use of infrared camera to verify effective in session change is the basis of Jeff's presentation. Hershel will present the basics of HEG first from a physiological standpoint then will show how to select training positions dependant on measured dysfunctions.
These formal presentations will be followed by clinical demonstrations with volunteer attendees.

Plenary #220):  HEG Focus Training (Attention Index)

This new HEG technique drives an animated video display with your degree of attention on a score of 20% to 100%.

The technique allows the trainer to interrupt whenever an distracting thought changes the score in order to bring the distraction to clear consciosness

EEG Foundations Course #205):  Hemoencephalography (HEG): A New Form of Neurofeedback With Potential for Enhancing Brain Function in Multiple Conditions

Conditions Hemoencephalography (HEG) is an innovative method of biofeedback-guided brain exercise, which can enhance brain function through targeted activation of underfunctioning brain areas. The brain recruits its localized blood supply based on moment-to-moment needs. When a specific area of brain is activated, blood flow to that area momentarily increases to meet the demand. As the local brain activation returns to baseline, the local blood flow returns to baseline as well. Patterns of local brain blood flow thus provide an ongoing map of patterns of local brain activation.

Plenary #75):  symposium Hershel Toomim, Rob Coben discuss HEG improvements in clinical practiice.

Hershel Toomim will present his discovery of a direction for improvement in the use of 95% of the time spent on neurotherapy. He will show the basis of an hypothesis of brain use leading to improved intelligence and perhaps life span.
Rob Coben will present the results of his study of autism treated with a combination of HEG and EEG

Plenary #220):  HEG Focus Training (Attention Index)

A live demonstration of the technique will be showm on the LED projector screen with a trainee chosen from the audience.

It will become apparent that such thoughts are barely conscious. Progress is measured by the time focus can be maintained without distraction.

The unique basis of this new technique will be revealed and discussed.
